MGOCSM

The St. George MGOCSM continues to be an active support to it's community and the Philadelphia area MGOCSM. The MGO works alongside the Sunday School with participating in annual events such as volunteering at the nearby Salvation Army to organize food and supplies for the needy. In addition, the MGO participates in area events such as Back to School Conference, Hadootho, fundraiser events, and much more. The St. George MGO prides upon worship, study, and service to bring up the youth as leaders in the church community. Members of the MGO participate in large scale events such as Leadership Camp and hold important positions in the MGOCSM. The members of the St. George MGO family are prospering with the help of the surrounding churches and fellow MGO members who contribute to the growing ministry of St. George.

Youth League

The Youth League is organized to promote the spiritual, cultural, and social development of the youth members and thereby integrating each of the young person fully into the total life of the Church.There are currently about 20-25 members within our youth league. All of our meetings begin with a prayer and are held once a month after the Holy Qurbana to discuss the spiritual life, deepening our faith, and having fun too ! The league hosts many events to raise money to lend a helping hand for those in need.

In addition to this, several of the current members of our youth league are part of basketball and volleyball teams. Both teams have participated in several inter church tournaments and have won many trophies. The goal of these sports teams is to provide the members of our church an opportunity to meet, participate and promote sportsmanship while holding high the banner of a good orthodox christian attitude and behavior. We welcome all the interested youngsters of the church who are self confident and willing to make a remarkable progress in their skills through practice and team play.

Youth league is a very important part of our church. It helps to build a sense of community and allows us to grow as a parish. Therefore, it is important for us to continue along this path and host more events.

GROW

G.R.O.W. Ministries is to help women grow in Christ throughout all the stages of their life and have a personal, life-changing relationship with God. This ministry is essential in that it provides a support system for young women while also educating them in the Orthodox faith.

This ministry is formed under the Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church with the blessings of His. Grace Dr. Zachariah Mar Nicholovas.

The purpose of this Ministry is to meet the spiritual needs of women, grow in our relationship with Christ and to develop a relationship with other fellow sisters in Christ.

FOCUS

Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in the United States :

FOCUS is a spiritual organization that caters to the spiritual needs of the older youth in the American Diocese. The Major Goals of this Ministry are:

To provide spiritual enrichment for young adults and couples via prayer meetings, Bible studies, counseling sessions led by trained professionals, etc.
To train young adults to be active in the administration and activities on the parish level.
To use the skills and experience of young adults to provide a support system for the young people of our church via Sunday School, MGOCSM, and OVBS.
To identify and bring back young adults who have left the church for various reasons, and provide them with a way into the Christian community.

Couple's Forum

This Ministry is formed to bring the couples in our church , closer together in Christ.

The objectives of this Forum are:

To achieve better harmony in families through proper orientation to life in America
To bring spiritual leaders for lectures and presentations on family issues, particularly related to men
To organize prayer and bible study at individual parishes on a regular basis
Family budgeting and how to face financial issues
Childrens' education and future- the sources of grants and scholarships, as well as the selection of colleges and universities

Men's Forum

. The objectives of this Forum are:

Morth Maria Samajam

Morth Mariam Vanitha samajam is the women’s organization of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church of India, that was started in America in the year 1982. It is currently led by the Diocesan Metropolitan, His Grace Dr. Zachariah Mar Nicholovos. The group follows the ideals of pray, act and shine the light of Christ.

Our Samajam Activities:

We meet for samajam every Sunday after Holy Qurbana.
Once a month, a prayer meeting is conducted at one of the member’s home.
Donations are made to various types of charities from funds raised by the samajam members.
The samajam visits members at their homes to pray for their well being.
Our samajam participates in the annual conference.
The goal of our samajam is to strengthen our faith and grow spiritually together.
